Amar
Hi there, I'm one of the founders of Shogun and I'll be a member of the crew on your tour! I'll be on the lead bike out the front of the pack, showing you around incredible Japan. A few years ago I was living in England working a 9-5 job and dreaming of the open road. I couldn't stop thinking about how disappointed I'd be if I stayed in the safe lane rather than taking a chance to create memories and friendships that would last forever. So, I dropped everything, bought a bike, and hit the road. We spent lots of time in the Himalayas particularly, covering some of the best motorbike touring countries around the world. That experience lit the fire for motorbike touring in me that led to the creation of Shogun with James. Like James, I'm a regular visitor to Japan, and love exploring its hidden gems. My passion for Japan started early—studying Japanese in high school and going on exchange to Japan was a life-changing experience that made me fall in love with the country. I can't wait to share my knowledge and passion for Japan and motorbike touring with you on a Shogun Motorbike Adventure!
James
Hi guys, I'm one of the founders of Shogun and I'll be a member of the crew on your tour! While Amar leads the pack out on the road, you’ll find me cruising at the back in the support vehicle, ensuring your luggage gets safely from A to B and that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. My love affair with Japan started in high school, where I studied Japanese, and went on an exchange trip to Japan along with Amar. It was an incredible introduction to Japan, and it sparked a lifelong connection to the country that has seen me return time and time again. I lived in Tokyo in 2015 teaching English at local schools. I also appeared on national TV in a Japanese samurai drama - you'll have to ask me about that when you come on a tour! Japan has so much to offer, from the cities to the countryside, it’s an incredible place that never ceases to surprise and amaze me. Personally, I love nothing more than hanging out with locals in the thousands of tiny bars dotted around Tokyo. I'm super excited to share my passion for Japan with you on a Shogun Motorbike Adventure!
Yuta
Hi guys, my name’s Yuta, I’m a member of the Shogun crew and I’ll be joining your tour as a local translator and all-round helpful guy! I’m born and raised in mainland Japan and based in Hokkaido now. I’ve lived outside of Japan a couple of times, and ended up picking up a quite thick Australian accent. I mainly work as a creative director and photographer in Sapporo. I also ride bikes, and have toured with Amar and James in Japan before, we had an awesome time! As a local Japanese, there are still so many histories and cultures that remain unknown here and I want you to experience those hidden sides of Japan with us! We can’t wait to dive into the adventures with you! Let’s hit the road with Shogun!!
